I'll be kind and give this a four - while they did forget our coffee for a bit and we had to ask a second time. The food took an average amount of time to be prepared. And the service other than the coffee was ample and attentive. Customers seem to be regulars and were very kind to move our party of three to a booth and trade to sit at the bar. The home fries, bacon and scrambled eggs are Delish! Hot and made fresh, fluffy eggs - crisp bacon & warm well seasoned home fries! Definitely a stop to add to a trip or if you are local!

I've had good food at Miss Bellows Falls diner in the past, which is what led me to eat there last weekend, but my most recent experience was truly awful. I am wondering if ownership has changed hands yet again. The coffee was watery yet burnt and my cup had a lipstick stain on it. I ordered the Cajun Scramble and my SO got the Western Omelette. My "Cajun" scramble was filled with onions and Franks hot sauce and covered with a slice of American cheese. Not at all what I was expecting. The peppers and ham inside the omelette were rubbery and sparse. We each got home fries and toast with our meals. The home fries had a hard to place taste that we decided was sunflower oil that had burned on the grill. The only good thing we ordered was a side of corned beef hash. To top it all off my bill was $24 and I spent the rest of my day at work feeling sick to my stomach. I was very sad that the food was not as I remembered and I will NEVER be returning.

My fiance and I drive over from Walpole on the weekends for breakfast here, and whenever we have friends or family visiting we make it a point to bring them over. I always get the sausage benny with a side of bacon (and the best part is that you can order it crispy or "wiggly/floppy" for soft bacon). When you come here for breakfast, especially on a Sunday, expect a bit of a wait because they only have one small griddle. The atmosphere inside is great though, all original woodwork and floors. I highly recommend it.

This place made us fantastic breakfast for most mornings of our honeymoon week (based in Rockingham). Pancakes, French toast, eggs, bacon... whether a seasonal variant or the basic diner offering, nothing was left desiring. It was usually full of local regulars bantering with the waitstaff, who were always friendly and helpful to us. The 1920s rail-car building was clean and bright; don't mistake old-fashioned for dingy. Though we couldn't attend, they were advertising an event featuring a special menu of local foods. That's not the practice of any run-of-the-mill greasy-spoon! If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a stop (or several).

I've only eaten breakfast here, but I've always enjoyed the food. I typically get the biscuits with sausage gravy. Doesn't compare to the real, home cooked version down south, but it's definitely worth getting. The staff is really nice as well.

I went to this old Miss diner many years ago when I was visiting a friend who lived in BF. Loved the old diner car experience. Standard diner menu and loved all the homemade pies!! Reasonably priced so the entire family can eat out. Just keep in mind the close quarters. It a train car!

The staff seemed bothered to have my kids there (who were pretty well behaved). The food wasn't great and the price was higher than I anticipated for the grungy atmosphere. Take the 2 minute drive across the river to Knowlton's, trust me you won't be sorry you did.

Don't bring the kids, the place is too small. Bring your appetite, though. Ate here a few weeks back with my motorcycling buddy and the food hit the spot cuz we were starvin'. Don't expect gourmet here but DO expect stick-to-your-ribs goodness. The waitstaff gals were a hoot, too. Hat's off for a great lil' authentic diner experience.

old school charm and home- made goodness. Reasonable ...an old dining railway car that has been transformed into a cool little diner. Price and quality both present here!

Having time to kill before my check in time at my new "home" in VT, I stopped here for lunch, and I was happy I stopped there before the lunch rush. I was just driving through to find a place to eat and this place pops out of nowhere. Its an adorable old rail car equipped with an old refrigerator, a grill and a back kitchen area. The car is a gateway to the cute little downtown area of Bellows Falls. I found parking readily available and I could see it had a nice crowd inside (a good sign if you are going somewhere for the first time). Definately charming on the inside, it was a small neat place. It was starting to get busy so I quickly made up my mind to have a hamburger with fries (sweet potato fries were on the menu too). My food was made and delivered in a timely manner and it was delicious. The patty was big and juicy and the burger had all the fixings-tomatoes, onion, lettuce and mayo. They had a variety of items on the menu from sandwiches to chopped liver with onions. I overheard the waitress tell a diner that she had the livers brought in fresh from a local butcher. Locals came in, although one was disappointed that she had to sit at the counter vs the booth, she left disgruntled and did not hesitate to tell a group of tourists that she got "kicked out". She was by herself and you could tell there were a couple of groups ready to come in and there were only two booths left and plenty of counter space to sit at (7/10 seats available). You gotta do what you gotta do I guess. Once the lunch crowd started to come in, the three employees were running around skillfully bringing in food, cooking and delivering it nice and hot-I felt I was in the diner dash computer game. Overall the place was great, my food was well priced and delicious. I would definately go there again and try the liver when I felt brave enough to do so =)!

basic 2 eggs, homefries, & (marble) rye toast = canonical diner perfection. ambience = heavy metal (lots of treble) overlaid with noisy ceiling fans. great service. good prices.

Miss Bellows Falls Diner belongs in the Shelburne Museum. Really. It's an authentic diner car with actual patina. The food is absolutely nothing special.

Nostalgic stop for my husband during our New England trip. His grandfather owned the Esquire Manufacturing factory that used to be across from the diner in the 60's, 70's. The place was small, of course, but that was expected. We ordered the fish sandwich and our son ordered a cheeseburger. Everything was good and the buns were toasted perfectly. We enjoyed the atmosphere, including the casual conversations between staff and the regulars.
